When my baby was 12 weeks old, he had double hernia removal surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. We stayed overnight, and had a truly amazing experience there because of the high quality care.
Also recently, I had the pleasure of touring The Birthplace Suites, and I was inspired to write what I believe are the top 3 reasons why you should consider having your baby there. But you don’t have to take my word for it – check out my video from two ladies who had their own babies there!
Here are 3 reasons why you should consider having your baby at St. Mary’s Medical Center:
- The Birthplace Suites themselves are truly, truly spectacular. They’re so nice, they’re more like a hotel than a hospital, haha! Seriously, though, you will be impressed when you see them. At The Birthplace, pampering is paired with the advanced, compassionate care that will bring you to St. Mary’s Medical Center to begin with. Everything they do focuses on the needs of the mother and newborn. It is an impressive list of amenities and services – so you can relax in comfort with your new baby.
- There’s the highest level of care at the Level III NICU – which I didn’t realize would matter as much as it did to me, when my water broke as I was shopping at a local mall and my baby came 5 weeks early. You never know if your baby will need a NICU – and this is the hospital that other hospitals will send the highest-need babies to. I am going to say that again to impress this upon you: THIS IS WHERE OTHER HOSPITALS SEND THEIR HIGHEST-NEED BABIES. Do you understand how crucial this can be? Not all NICUs are the same. As parents, you want the best for your baby – including the very best medical care. God forbid your delivery does not go exactly as planned, but if your newborn needs more specialized care, you can rest a bit easier knowing the state’s HIGHEST LEVEL OF NEONATAL CARE is right where you are. It’s the only NICU in Palm Beach County with more than 120 pediatric specialists, and it is the largest and most experienced Level III NICU. As the mother of a NICU baby, just trust me on this one. GO HERE.
- This hospital delivers more babies than any other in Palm Beach County. I believe it’s because it’s the best of the best. There’s an in-house 24/7 clinical team, including obstretician, neonatologist and anesthesiologist – plus a specialized team for high-risk pregnancies. I was what they call “a geriatric mother” because I was older than 35 when I had my baby, and the peace of mind that you gain knowing the best experts and specialists are in your hospital is worth it all the way.
I was able to tour the hospital with my blogger friends Briana Beaty (who was featured in the YouTube video I shared earlier) and Heather McMechan. Check out why Briana loved having her first baby at the hospital, and why Heather was so impressed with her visit!
A leader in critical care medicine, St. Mary’s treats more than 70,000 emergency and trauma patients each year. With advanced diagnostic and imaging services, it is the only GE Showsite in the Southeastern United States for neurointerventional imaging technology. Their dedicated team of physicians and staff has helped the hospital achieve top quality awards through The Birthplace, a level I trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, level III NICU and more.
